Style Redesign - Feedback???

Hope people see this, because I could use a little feedback.  Because Penelope/Sarah is next on my list of activity checks to do, she was the one who posed for me.  PLEASE IGNORE MOST OF THAT HEAD SHOT.  Pay attention to the mouth, nose and eyes... that's what I'll be keeping.   

Ok, I WAS going to submit this to the group but I'd like to hear from my watchers first... let's just say there's a reason my assignments and activity checks are always late.

I don't like drawing cats.  Not in the style I use now. 

I finally figured out why, when I was drawing Pokemon the other day.

ANATOMY I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE, GET LOST.
...no, that's not why.  xD

I didn't find my footing in animal art.  Not in semi-realism.
I found it in Pokemon art.  Something very simple and more exaggerated than what I'm capable of doing otherwise.  It's more fun and I have more experience overall.

So I want to make a Pokemon-inspired style for my cats, so I can do everything I do with my Pokemon art and more... this may require redesigns, and won't be easy.

But even drawing THIS I had a lot of fun.

So... any thoughts? I'll answer them in the morning, I have to sleep.  owo

Also, Piplup-Luv should be mentioned.  I thought about her a lot when I was thinking this through.  She pulls off a really unique, simple, but nice style falling somewhere between realistic and cartoonish, and as always PL was a big inspiration for me when I was drawing this.  ^^ Thanks buddy, for being who you are, and awesome artist and one of my best friends ever.  Even if we don't talk as much, you're still here with me, in a way!
